Start by opening every page.
Before proposing a single layout, we crawled every URL on the site and matched it against MKB's own product inventory: 9 brands, 65 products and a library of 200 technical documents.
That map shaped everything after it. It showed which product pages needed a common structure, which four products lived outside the catalog, and where six pieces of content were missing, so they could be written before launch.
One structure for every product.
Every product page now follows the same order: gallery, intro with a download button, specs, a “Why Choose” band, field photography, FAQ and related products. Where a section has no content it hides, rather than showing an empty box.
01Content stays in the editor
Every design detail had to survive the client's team pressing Update, so they can keep the site current themselves.
02Shared components
One gallery, one card and one “Why Choose” band, used everywhere they appear.
03Built for phones
All 18 templates measured at 390×844: no horizontal overflow, no text under 12.5px, and every tap target at least 44px.
A library that answers, and a table that runs itself.
The approvals page reads directly from a Google Sheet that MKB's regulatory lead maintains: 852 product-state records across 60 states and agencies. When a listing changes, she updates the sheet and the website is current.
All of the work lives in a child theme over the existing parent theme, so a theme update can't undo it.
- 54 of 65
product pages gained a “Why Choose” section, written from the client's own technical documents.
- 40 filter terms
added so the document library matches how contractors describe products, with 16 “Get Specs” buttons linking in, pre-filtered.
- 208 images
given descriptive alt text, so the catalog reads well to screen readers and search engines.
- Two plugins
MKB Motion (reveal animation that falls back to static, never blank) and MKB Speed (conditional assets, caching, media optimization).

Ten weeks from first crawl to launch, with the site live the whole time.
MKB Company rebuild
Live on September 1, with zero downtime.
The new site replaced the old one in place on September 1, 2026. Four standalone product pages joined the catalog, and 169 redirects were mapped so every old link still lands somewhere useful.
Before launch we checked every product for data problems and corrected three broken references at the source, rather than covering them up on the page.
